328 pounds... Seriously?

I weigh 328 pounds. Wow that is fat. I am more than double my husband's size.

Seriously? How can this be?

I know how it can be.

I would like to weigh 140 pounds by the year 2011. I don't really think that is a ridiculous goal.

Mathematics say that I will have to lose 188 pounds in order to get to my goal weight.

In order to lose it by the goal time, I will have to lose 7.833333 pounds a month. So let's just say that my goal is to lose 8 pounds a month. That is completely doable. It is a very small task really... 8 pounds a month. That breaks down to 2 pounds a week, and that is a very healthy weight loss. Can I do it?

Oh my goodness... I do hope so.

I am starting this journey early tomorrow morning... well, probably more like mid-morning tomorrow, since it is 2am and I have yet to get into bed.

  1. HI ! I saw that you follow my blog, and thought I would come say hello. I love your determination! What are you doing to lose the weight? You totally can do this, and 8 pounds a month is very reasonable, just keep persevering!!

  2. YES. You can so do this!

    My advice is to not focus on the 140...look to 300 or 315 right now. Once you reach that, set another small goal. If you stick to that, 140 will be here before you know it.

    Also, focus on the health aspects of this rather than the number on the scale. One thing that motivated me was to get to under 32 inch waist circumference by eliminating as much processed food as possible. I believe this was a Dr. Oz thing. Here is a link if you are interested...

  3. Tank you so much for the comment on my page it really got me through the day. Thanks again so much. I totally think that you will be able to get to your goal of 2 lbs a week. But don't get discouraged if not every week you drop those 2 lbs you will get though it I have faith in you. Thanks for following my Blog.

    You said that you don't know where to start one of the things that i do is i march in place sometimes while watching my favorite television shows or walk around the coffee table during the commercial break. Just some ways to get in those extra steps in. Also if you are looking for a diet to do i would check out the diet that i am doing. You are aloud to eat as much as you want you just have to stick to the specific types of food. you have to cut out alot of food and other things out of your diet but it has been working for me and my mom. My mom went from a size 14 in August to a size 6 at the end of december. Just check out the website. google McCombs plan and you will be able to find it. If this is something that you are interested in i would be more than happy to tell you about different thing to eat and what to do for meal plans and such.

    I agree with Kristen's comment. You should choose smaller goals. This will all add up without seeming unatainable. Keep to the health aspect too. We may not become super models but we'll be happy, healthy, and comfortable in our own bodies. I'm proud of anyone who tries.

  5. Forgot...Loves idea to just get up and move while watching television is a good place to start. Little walks will become bigger walks and you'll learn to enjoy them. I have.

  9. Hello. I realize that it's been a long time since your last post.... But as a fellow blogger (almost 5 years now) & a person struggling with their weight, I know how hard it is to come back to your blog after a long break. I've finally returned (yet again) after a long break, and have just managed to get back to the weight I was the day I started my blog all those long years ago.

    I would of never of come back without of the support of fellow bloggers..... and I'm hoping this comment will help give you the courage and motivation to renew your goals and commitment to yourself.
